Q2 Management Conference | Thursday, May 14, 2026 | Thibodaux
We invite you to join BTNEP for our Q2 Management Conference and Annual Crawfish Boil on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 9:30 am at The Coastal Center on Nicholls State University’s campus.
BTNEP will present our draft FY 27 Base Funding (CWA Sec. 320) and IIJA Work Plans, which outline the overall budget for the year, including nine projects proposed for funding. Buttons to view the draft work plans are below, and we encourage you to review them in advance of the meeting.
In addition, we have a great lineup of speakers to share their expertise with us. First, we’ll hear updates from Marty Bienvenu, Executive Director-LOSCO, Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy, on the 2026 Louisiana Offshore Oil Port and the 2024 Bayou Lafourche Oil Spills.
Up next, Cody Aloi, Program Manager at the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, will demonstrate how dogs are being used to monitor and help protect water quality by detecting pathogens in estuarine waters.
Last, Dr. Quenton Fontenot, Professor of Biology at Nicholls State University, will discuss the existing constructed wetland system at the Nicholls Farm, as well as a new initiative there: converting existing crawfish ponds into a controlled floodplain system. You can find the full meeting agenda at the button below.
Following the conference, we’ll enjoy freshly boiled crawfish and fixings by Spahr’s Seafood for our Annual Crawfish Boil! Please note that those who registered after April 29th will not be guaranteed a lunch.
Please RSVP online using the button below. If you prefer to register by email or phone, contact our office at nicole@btnep.org or 985-447-0868.
