Q3 Management Conference | Thursday, August 13, 2026 | Morgan City
We invite you to join BTNEP for our Q3 Management Conference on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 9:30 am at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium!
Cindy Cutrera with the Port of Morgan City kicked off the meeting with an overview of the Port, its operations, and its importance to the region. We followed that with a presentation about protecting the citizens of St. Mary Parish from flooding by Michael Brocato with the St. Mary Parish Levee District. Next, Dr. Carrie Cortez and Madison Pellegrin from Fletcher Technical Community College told us about their initiatives in the Estuary and gave us an update on the Transitions to Re-Entry Program, funded by BTNEP, which provides scholarships in the coastal space to incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals. Afterwards, Alex Gelpi Carter and Tara Lambeth with Desire Line discussed the Louisiana Watershed Plan and other projects for Region 6. We closed the meeting with a presentation from Darrel Rivere from the Heart of the Atchafalaya Museum, who shared how they’re working to preserve the Cajun/Acadian culture, our local history, and the wildlife, water, and landscape of the Atchafalaya Basin.
