Q1 Management Conference #114 | Thursday, February 12, 2026 | Thibodaux
BTNEP’s Q1 Management Conference was held on Thursday, February 12th, at The Coastal Center in Thibodaux. It was wonderful to welcome all of you to our new home! We began the morning with a warm welcome to campus from Terry Braud, Nicholls State University’s Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration. Dr. Tim Clay followed that by sharing his work on head-starting diamondback terrapins, a project funded by BTNEP. (He even brought some turtle buddies along!) Next, Dr. Jennifer Coulson discussed the tracking of swallow-tailed kites within the Barataria-Terrebonne Basin and beyond, another project funded in part by BTNEP. We then heard from Chuck Berger, who spoke about creating resilient streams and rivers in Louisiana. Last, Brac Salyers shared a long-term look at the largemouth bass fishery in the Atchafalaya Basin. It was a wonderful morning of learning and fellowship. Thank you to our speakers for sharing your time and knowledge!
Please mark your calendars for our Q2 Management Conference and annual Crawfish Boil on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 9:30 am at Nicholls State University. We will be reviewing our draft work plans, which outline the proposed projects for FY27 EPA funding. You won’t want to miss this one!
